Arsenal have officially confirmed the departures of many players.
Arsenal have today officially announced that 11 players will be departing the club this summer on free transfers.
This time last year Arsenal released a multitude of young players and deadwood - but it appears plenty stuck by, although two who have left are players they would like to have kept.
The club statement read:
"Arsenal can confirm that 11 players will be leaving the club when their contracts officially expire on June 30.
Nicklas Bendtner and Ju Young Park come to the end of their contracts, while Kim Kallstrom and Emiliano Viviano’s loan spells are set to conclude...Bacary Sagna, Lukasz Fabianski and Zak Ansah have completed permanent moves to Manchester City, Swansea City and Charlton Athletic respectively.
"Meanwhile, academy players Chuks Aneke, Daniel Boateng, Zach Fagan and Leander Siemann also depart...
"Everyone at Arsenal would like to take this opportunity to thank all of these players for their contribution to the club, and to wish them well for the future."
Viviano didn't play a single game since arriving from Palermo on loan while Kallstrom's injury troubles saw him make a minimal impact. Sagna and Fabianski are the ones Arsenal would have liked to keep - but they decided to move on with City and Swansea the lucky recipients.
Aneke's departure, who is joining Zulte-Waregem, came as a surprise but the rest could have been guessed.
Nicklas Bendtner has been more hassle than he is worth for the past three seasons. A career in the spotlight beckons, just not at The Emirates. Park has been a resounding flop since arriving from Monaco while the others are all talents who will simply not make it into the first-team.
So Arsene Wenger now knows exactly what he has at his disposal - time to start building for next season.
