A whole host of Premier League clubs have been linked to the Colombian over the last twelve months, with Manchester United the most recent suitors.
Over the course of the 2013-14 season, nearly every ambitious Premier League club was linked with a move for Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin, who was reportedly ready to leave Inter Milan.
He allegedly came close to signing for Chelsea, with former Inter manager Jose Mourinho a fan of a player who like him spent time at Porto and the Nerazzurri. That deal didn't come off, but it wasn't the only club the Colombian was linked with, as Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City all saw their names associated to the 27-year-old.
In recent days it has been Manchester United who have been most closely linked to the player, and it isn't the first time they've been mentioned either.
However, any possibility of a move to Old Trafford was deemed unlikely due to Guarin's preference for a move to Juventus according to Italian media, and now Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting Inter are set to offer their star midfielder as part of a deal to bring Atletico midfield general Mario Suarez to Italy.
Suarez played less for the La Liga winners this season that he had done in recent years, making just 24 appearances, but managed to earn his first caps for Spain in 2013 and is clearly someone to add a bit of bite to a Inter midfield set to be without departed legend Esteban Cambiasso next season.
Whether United or any of the clubs previously interested in Guarin will now come in with a bid of their own in an effort to sign a player currently in Brazil, we'll have to wait and see.
