Southampton 'resigned' to losing duo
Manchester United and Liverpool have been given hope regarding Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana. The Mirror report that Southampton are 'resigned to losing the duo', and making spending plans of their own. They report that new boss Ronald Koeman will be handed £70 million to spend, should the two stars be sold. The same paper claimed United submitted a £34 million offer for Luke Shaw this week while a £25 million offer from Liverpool for Adam Lallana was rejected last month.
Southampton's desire to make progress with their own transfer targets will surely see them keen to resolve the situations regarding the duo clear sooner rather than later, and with England returning from the World Cup, that could happen over the next fortnight.
Manchester United - Herrera update
Manchester United's move for Athletic Bilbao midfielder is progressing to the point that it could be sealed within hours. ITV report that Herrera underwent a tour of United's training ground on Wednesday afternoon, and even was snapped for the upcoming unveiling.
The report states: "The 24-year-old midfielder also had his photographs taken for the club website ahead of the official announcement of his £28.7 million transfer."
Fernando to seal City move
Manchester City have agreed a £12 million fee for Porto midfielder Fernando, write The Guardian. The player dubbed the 'Octopus' has been subject of interest from the club since January, and looks set to now seal his transfer. Porto have announced the deal on their website and City are expected to confirm the addition of the 26-year-old Brazilian themselves this week.
West Brom chase Monaco forward
West Brom are surprise movers for Monaco forward Emmanuel Riviere. The Mail report the Baggies are interested in signing the striker, who could be available for around £6 million. The paper add that personal terms are likely to hold back the deal. The 24-year-old Frenchman scored 11 goals in 19 starts in Ligue 1 last season.
