Arsenal latest: £29m striker rumours 'not true', Poyet linked and Debuchy on radar

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates this evening.

Building on a story from this morning it has now become even clearer that Arsene Wenger has zero interest in signing AC Milan rebel Mario Balotelli. The Italian striker, infamous in England from his time at Manchester City, has recently been heavily linked with a move to The Emirates.

Their upcoming partnership with Puma, comments from his agent Mino Raiola and from Barbara Berlusconi just added to the growing sense that Arsenal could pull off a shock coup.

However Wenger has made it unequivocal, at least it should be, that Balotelli will not be an Arsenal player, saying:

“It’s pure invention. We cannot believe absolutely everything that is on the internet or in the papers. Sometimes it’s created by agents or by press who needs news. But in this case, it’s not true.”

Charlton Athletic have announced the departure of their 19-year-old player of the year Diego Poyet on a free transfer. The talented attacking midfielder broke into the side midway through the season and is said to want a step up - so decided to reject The Addicks latest deal.

Arsenal are one of many teams, including Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester City being linked with the player - who is the son of Sunderland manager Gustavo Poyet.

Arsenal are reportedly showing an interest in Norwegian goalkeeper Orjan Nyland. The 23-year-old currently plys his trade for Norwegian outfit Molde FK and has reportedly been scouted by the club for the past 18 months.

The 23-year-old would be signed as a replacement for the recently departed Lukasz Fabianski, who has joined Swansea City.

Arsenal are being linked with Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy. The French international, who keeps the departing Bacary Sagna out of Les Bleus starting XI, wants Champions League football next season - something The Toon can not offer him.
