It was not even five hours since the initial 'bite' incident had passed, where Luis Suarez's notorious attack on Giorgio Chiellini had spawned a spin-off courtesy of Cote d'Ivoire goalkeeper Boubacar Barry.
While it is unclear whether Suarez will face retrospective action for his involvement in a third biting scandal, the Ivorian glovesman was perhaps making light of the scene that marred Uruguay's 1-0 victory over Italy by performing his own bite.
Fear not, no humans were harmed in the making of Boubacar's production, as the Lokeren shot-stopper was celebrating his national team's equaliser against Greece by chomping down on the Estadio Castelao, Fortaleza turf - then celebrating like a maniac in front of a camera lens (see below).
What is perhaps cruel for Barry, is that the Greek's got the last laugh… Georgios Samaras cancelled out Wilfried Bony's goal as the Greek striker scored in the 93rd minute from the penalty spot, providing his country with a last-gasp 2-1 victory which sees Greece take second place, knocking Ivory Coast down to third and out of the World Cup.
Is comedy the way forward and will we see other players "doing a Suarez" when their team scores? Let us know in the comment section below!
