A host of clubs are interested in signing 23-year-old Tottenham Hotspur striker Jonathan Obika.
Jonathan Obika has enjoyed a plethora of loan spells away from White Hart Lane and has never been given a real opportunity at Spurs. After endless loan spells he could now finally be set for a permanent move away from the club, and he could well have plenty of options.
Sky Sports believe that Charlton Athletic, Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley, and Bristol City would be interested in bringing in the striker. Out of the aforementioned clubs, Charlton would be favourites due to their Championship status and the fact Obika was on loan at The Valley last season and the year prior to that as well.
In his two spells with The Addicks, Obika scored three goals from 22 games but it seems the new management at the club remain keen on him. The striker has been at Tottenham Hotspur since 2006 but has never appeared for them in the league. He has only played four times in total for the club with his debut coming in the UEFA Cup as an 18-year-old.
Since then he has had an incredible eleven separate loan spells with clubs in the Football League. Four of them came with Yeovil Town in successive seasons, but he also spent time at other clubs in between his spells at Huish Park. He can also count Millwall, Crystal Palace, Peterborough United, Swindon Town, and Brighton and Hove Albion as former clubs.
In his career he has scored 26 goals in 135 games, with 18 of his goals coming for Yeovil. His loan spells haven't been prolific enough to see him handed opportunities at Tottenham and with the demand for success at an all time high seemingly at that club, he is even further down the pecking order as they look to bring in more players this summer.
