Transfer Bin: Inter ready to hand Manchester United €15m for Nani

Inter reported to be preparing a considerable offer for Manchester United’s Nani.

Nani has long been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, coming off a poor season in which he was limited to just 11 Premier League appearances.

Juventus have often been suggested as a possible destination for the 27-year-old, but now another Serie A giant are said to be weighing up an offer.

Portuguese newspaper Record report that Inter are set to bid €15 million for the Portugal international, citing the British press as their source.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star have pointed to ‘reports in Italy’ as the origin of the rumour, whilst Italian outlet Sportal have referenced Record in their version of the story.

In short, the rumour looks to be a product of a cyclical chain of reports, and as such is destined for the Transfer Bin.

Beyond this confusion, it’s highly questionable that Inter would consider paying out €15 million for Nani to begin with.

The Milanese outfit are on a tight budget this summer under new ownership and having splashed out €18 million for Hernanes, are looking to invest with discretion.

Coach Walter Mazzarri’s transfer market priorities are known to be a defensive midfielder and a consistent striker, so if cash is to be spent, it will certainly be in these two areas.

Nani doesn’t fit the bill in either respect, whilst the Italian tactician’s favoured 3-4-1-2 doesn’t even call for an advanced winger of the United man’s variety at all.

The former Sporting Lisbon player could indeed be on his way out of Manchester this summer, but there’s plenty of evidence to suggest he won’t be ending up at Appiano Gentile.

Into the Transfer Bin this rumour goes, unlikely to be heard from again.
