Google Glass goes on sale in the UK

Google Glass

The UK is the first country outside the USA to get a look at Google’s speccy computers

For the princely sum of £1.000 (Incl. VAT) the UK Google-Glass-curious will now be able to pick up a pair of the techy glasses to join Google’s early bird explorer program.

“Beginning today, we’re extending our open beta Explorer program to the UK.” announced Google, “The world sees the UK as a center (actually, a centre) of innovation. It has produced some of the greatest technology inventors and inventions of the last century, and people on the ground are always excited to explore new products and ideas.”

Those Brits interested in trying out Google Glass can purchase a pair via the website and head over to two demonstration days in London on 27th and 28th June to try out a pair.

For the fashion conscious not enthused by Google’s own Glass design a range of designer specs are available from Diane von Furstenberg’s DVF design studio for an additional sum. More designs are expected to come from Luxottica, the holding company for Ray-Ban, Oakley, Persol, and Burberry.
