Chelsea midfielder Oscar has admitted there was contact between him and French side Paris Saint-Germain. But before Blues’ fans get worried, he has moved to reassure them he will remain at Stamford Bridge next season.
In an interview with French newspaper L’Equipe, the Brazilian international said, “I had contacts with PSG, it’s true. But it did not go further.”
The Ligue 1 side are reportedly close to signing David Luiz once his World Cup campaign is over, while they have also been strongly linked with a move for Eden Hazard in the recent past.
However, Hazard has already moved to quash the speculation and now Oscar has followed, by adding, “The next season, I will stay at Chelsea.”
The 22-year-old has regularly been trusted by his national boss Luiz Felipe Scolari this summer, but aside from scoring in his country’s opening game against Croatia he has looked a little out of sorts.
Oscar netted 11 goals and set up a further 10 for Chelsea next season, and he is currently keeping Blues’ teammate Willian out of the Brazil side. But following Hulk’s disappointing performance against Cameroon, both players could soon be replicating their club partnership for their country.
