Gary Medel, as always for club and country, was breaking up the pattern of the Netherlands attack, but it wasn't enough as Chile lost 2-0 to the Dutch.
Chile have been outstanding in their first two matches of the 2014 World Cup, but the third match against the Netherlands was one they struggled in.
Two late goals from Norwich City's Leroy Fer and Memphis Depay secured a 2-0 win for the Dutch, and earn them the right to finish top of Group B. Chile have had to settle for second place in the group, a position that could lead them to play hosts Brazil in the last 16.
Here are the player ratings for Chile:
Claudio Bravo - 6
The Barcelona bound goalkeeper wasn't at fault from either goals, but also wasn't troubled much other than that. Will want to improve in the next match.
Mauricio Isla - 7
The defender was solid in a back three for Chile, managed to keep Lens predominantly quiet for most of the match.
Eugenio Mena - 7
Along with Isla, looked solid in the centre back role for most of the match. Was left exposed for Robben's pace though at times.
Gonzalo Jara - 6
Not as solid as he has been in his previous two matches for Chile, will need to improve that in the last 16.
Gary Medel - 7
Made himself a real nuisance for the Netherlands attack who struggled to find space, his aggressive style of play worked overall well in this match, like in the previous two.
Francisco Silva - 7
Was replaced by Jorge Valdiva after 70 minutes, Chile played better when he was on the pitch. Will hope to play the full match in the last 16.
Charles Aranguiz - 6
Not as forward thinking and creative as he was against Australia and Spain, that worker so well for him. Will want to make a greater impact going forward next time around.
Marcelo Diaz - 7
Strong in the midfield for Chile, was often the catalyst in their energetic pressing game in the first half. The Basel midfielder will be satisfied with his input.
Felipe Gutierrez - 6
Missed a great chance in the first half with a header, was substituted at half time as a result of his performance that lacked energy.
Alexis Sanchez - 8
Showed to everyone why he is Chile's main man and so important to Barcelona. Great passing ability and skill set, didn't have any clear chances to add to his two goals already in the tournament. ill hope to have more goal mouth action in the knockout rounds.
Eduardo Vargas - 7
Playing in place of Vidal who was a yellow card away from suspension, struggled to find himself chances and space in a defensive match. Was substituted after 81 minutes for Mauricio Pinilla.
Jorge Valdiva - 6
Come on for Francisco Silva after 70 minutes, didn't really make enough of a positive impact either attacking or defensively, struggled overall.
Jean Beausejour - 7
The Wigan midfielder come on for Felipe Gutierrez after 45 minutes, was energetic as always down the left. Struggled to find good crossing positions though.
Mauricio Pinilla - 6
Come on for Eduardo Vargas after 81 minutes as Chile were looking to find an equaliser, found very few opportunities to do so for his country.
