Brazil player ratings v Cameroon: Man City star seals win

Manchester City defensive midfielder sealed the win in Brazil as his country beat Cameroon 4-1.

Julio Cesar 6 - When called upon offered a reassuring and steady hand at the times when Brazil’s defence were all over the place.

Daniel Alves 5 - Woeful game given the talent of this man, was largely at fault for not getting back quick enough for Cameroon’s goal.

Thiago Silva 6 - Played an average game, made some vital interceptions but didn’t look wholly solid.

David Luiz 6 - Could have done much better for Cameroon’s goal, but provided a wonderful cross for Fred’s goal.

Marcelo 6 - Looked out of sorts in defence and often left his team in trouble when galavanting forward.

Paulinho 5 - Very average game and had so many opportunities to be better.

Luiz Gustavo 7 - Played a great game, won the ball back and played in a great cross for Neymar’s first.

Hulk 6 - Easily could have set up Neymar for his hat-trick but tried to do it all on his own, summed up his game.

Oscar 6 - Had nothing on his first game against Croatia, good assist for Fernandinho’s goal, but that was about it.

Neymar 9 - Fantastic game from Neymar, really rose to the occasion when his country needed him. Two very well taken goals and played with traditional Brazilian flair, showcasing plenty of skill.

Fred 8 - A much better game from Fred, assists and a goal. Much like Neymar, stepped up when his country needed him most.

Fernandinho 7 - Made for a much better midfielder than Paulinho and sealed the win with a smart finish.
