Arsenal transfer news: Vela snubs Emirates return, Mandzukic move still possible

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Arsenal.

Arsenal transfer target Antoine Griezmann has revealed that the Gunners will not be re-signing Carlos Vela from Real Sociedad.

Vela had been linked in a value for money return to Arsenal, to bolster Arsene Wenger’s attacking options ahead of next season.

“We have a great relationship on and off the pitch because we're good friends. He's relaxed. He's already signed a new contract and he's looking happy,” Griezmann told ESPN Mexico.

The Express has revealed that striker Mario Mandzukic is not about to join Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

The Croatian has been suggested as an attacking addition for the Gunners, with a possible move still on.

“It’s just a false announcement, there is no truth to it in the slightest. I think our board of directors have already said what needs to be said about it: we have not had any contact with the player,” said Klaus Allofs, Wolfsburg’s Sporting Director.

Arsenal have reportedly joined the race for Liverpool and Manchester United target Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean winger has been linked consistently with both Premier League clubs since the end of the last season.

Alexis could be the man to come in on Arsenal’s left hand side, releasing Lukas Podolski to go and play up front.
