Arsenal latest: Balotelli round-up; Ox setback and Giroud reveals advice

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Emirates…

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has revealed the advice given to him by Arsene Wenger.

In an interview given to L’Equipe and later published by London 24, the French striker said, “To him, I am not crafty enough. Once he told me I am too frank in my runs, too predictable. I have to be more confusing.

“I feel I can go on improving. I can improve some parts of my game and have better statistics.”

Giroud is enjoying a fine World Cup for France, who have already qualified for the last-16 with a game to spare. But Arsenal fans will be hoping he takes Wenger’s words on board prior to the new domestic campaign.

In other news, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not play any part in the World Cup according to the Independent.

The Arsenal winger suffered an injury blow prior to the tournament, and it is now believed he has suffered a setback in training that will see him miss out on England’s final group game against Costa Rica.

It is yet another blow for Roy Hodgson, who has already seen the Three Lions narrowly lose to both Italy and Uruguay.

And finally, Talk Sport reports that Arsenal could face competition for Mario Balotelli from Napoli. It is just one scenario in their wonderfully succinct summary of the saga so far.
