Third Lallana bid would alert Championship clubs to top Liverpool talent

Jordon Ibe

Former Birmingham City loanee Jordan Ibe, who has been linked with Derby County, could be on the move next season.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds are hoping that it's third time lucky with midfield top target Adam Lallana after seeing their previous two bids for the impressive England international knocked back.

The report states: Liverpool's improved offer of £25million was rejected by Southampton prior to the tournament with the South Coast outfit having initially snubbed a £20million bid.

As well as Lallana, Liverpool are reportedly chasing the services of Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri and Benfica's Lazar Markovic, but the Saints star remains Liverpool's reported number one target.

Whether the Reds are to sign Lallana, Shaqiri, Markovic or someone else, the expectation is that Jordan Ibe, who was described by Sturridge as the future of Liverpool, could be on the way out this summer on loan.

The 18-year-old spent the latter part of last season on loan at Birmingham City and played a part in the goal that kept the Blues in the Championship for next season. According to reports earlier in the month, Derby County are monitoring the situation of Ibe and could look to take him on-loan next season as they keep building their reputation as a haven for the top clubs young talent.

Last season, both Liverpool and Chelsea took advantage of the high standard coaching of Steve McClaren and sent top-rated talents Patrick Bamford and Andre Wisdom to aid their promotion bid. And after missing out on promotion in the play-off final, Derby will be keen to replicate their connections with the top clubs once again.

Ibe, who is one of the most sought after youngsters in England, is likely to attract interest from most of the clubs in the Championship next season and will need to plan his next move carefully. However, Brendan Rodgers will likely be the one working hard to land the 18-year-old a good move in order to step-up his progression next season.
