Manchester United boss to be Louis van Gaal has praised Miroslav Klose's World Cup record equalling feat.
Manchester United boss Louis has praised a star of Germany's World Cup squad, but it is not one he is likely to be signing.
He has singled out Miroslav Klose, after he equalled the Brazilian Ronaldo's all-time record for World Cup goals, netting his 15th against Ghana on Saturday night.
Van Gaal told a press conference: "Klose has scored his 15th goal and I have to congratulate him, it's huge."
At 36-years-old, Klose has just this tournament left in him in which to score one more and move clear on 16.
Van Gaal has been linked with bringing several German players to Manchester United, but for now he is concentrating on his role with Holland, and their next game against Chile - which could yet have ramifications for the Red Devils.
"This will be the most difficult opponent. I saw them against England and Germany in preparation matches. They lost a game (against Germany), but this is a team that likes to play, they have a wonderful coach who allows players to play a very attacking football. It will be 50/50."
Chile feature two stars Van Gaal has been linked with signing with United, Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez.
Both have a chance to catch his eye as well as winning Group B for the South Americans in the final game, but Sanchez may already have done.
The match against England which Van Gaal referred to, was a friendly last Autumn at Wembley, in which Sanchez stole the show, scoring twice in a 2-0 win.
Already off the mark in this tournament, Sanchez is rumoured to be available from Barcelona this summer, and he is only enhancing his reputation two games in.
