Massa grabs shock pole for Austrian Grand Prix

Felipe Massa snatched pole position for tomorrow's Austrian Grand Prix with a stunning late lap at the Red Bull Ring

The Williams cars have shown leading pace throughout the weekend and made good on that this afternoon, with Valtteri Bottas securing a front-row lock-out for the British squad in second. Nico Rosberg was third for Mercedes with Fernando Alonso fourth in his Ferrari.

Daniel Ricciardo was fifth on Red Bull's home circuit but team-mate Sebastian Vettel will start a disappointing 13th. Title contender Lewis Hamilton suffered an off on his final lap, leaving him ninth on the grid for tomorrow's race.

There were also strong showings from rookies Kevin Magnussen, who was sixth for McLaren, and Daniil Kvyat, who took seventh in the Toro Rosso.
