West Brom boss Alan Irvine got his mitts on an England international defender last night after signing Joleon Lescott from Manchester City on a free transfer. Lescott who signed for City for £22 million from Everton in 2009 - has moved back to the Midlands at the ripe age of 31 an The Baggies will undoubtedly be ecstatic with the signature.
He had become surplus to requirements at City recently. The arrival of Martin Demichelis probably the final nail in the coffin that was his Etihad career. But the Birmingham born star, who has 26 caps for his country, is now set to help West Brom look further up the table - after a difficult season last year.
But despite not being a first-team regular at City in recent times, playing just 10 times in the league last season, he was still a popular man around the dressing room at The Etihad Stadium.
And some of the City players have been saying their goodbyes on social media.
Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko was obviously sad to see a good friend leave the club.
But his loss is West Brom's gain - and Lescott will be hoping to guide The Baggies to safety this season.
