Arsenal transfer news: Mandzukic snub and Henry wants Campbell to stay

Mario Mandzukic Bayern

All the latest transfer news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

A striker being linked with Arsenal recently is now being linked with a move back to his former club this morning.

It is now being heavily reported that Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic will not be on his way to the Premier League - but instead return to former club and fellow Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg.

The striker is set to leave Bayern after falling out with Pep Guardiola and because of their imminent Robert Lewandowski signing.

Thierry Henry has been talking about talented striker Joel Campbell - who is currently making waves at the World Cup with Costa Rica. The talented star signed for The Gunners in 2011 but has since spent time on loan with Lorient, Real Betis and most recently Olympiakos.

And club legend Henry has revealed he is a massive fan of the player - who has led the line for Costa Rica with aplomb in Brazil:

"Joel Campbell is a great player. He can pass the ball well and smells the goal. We are all waiting to see him in an Arsenal shirt. Hopefully he will be a player Arsene Wenger likes because I would love to see him play for Arsenal.”

However Campbell is now a wanted man - with Crystal Palace again joining the race for his signature. The Eagles are said to want the player on loan for the season. It is a deal that might just entice Arsene Wenger, as it would provide the player with regular first-team football in the Premier League.

AC Milan also want Campbell as part of any deal for Mario Balotelli.
