Despite speculation suggesting that Liverpool star Luis Suarez wasn’t fit, it mattered little to England as the Uruguayan striker netted two superb goals to give his side a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
His menacing finishes certainly impressed those watching on, and Barcelona defender Marc Bartra took to Twitter to express his feelings on the Uruguayan goalscorer.
Which translates to; ‘What a goal from Suarez… What a player.’
The South Americans started their World Cup campaign without their talisman and it showed as they missed a number of chances during their shock opening 3-1 defeat to Costa Rica.
Against England, however, Luis Suarez returned to the starting line-up and his impact in front of goal couldn’t have been greater.

According to Opta Stats, The Reds striker was clearly not at his best as he rarely got involved in Uruguay’s build up play as they entered the final third.
The 27-year-old created no chances for his teammates, nor did he attempt to take on an England defender throughout his time on the pitch. Moreover, he drew just one foul from an opposition player and made a total of just 24 passes – only seven more than England shot-stopper Joe Hart.
His contribution in-front of goal, however, was what made all the difference as with his only two shots on target, the Liverpool fan favourite did what all great strikers do which is clinically find the back of the net.
