The Germany international attacker joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
‘I’ve loved it’, the 23-year-old told talkSPORT. ‘I wanted to leave Germany to test myself, and Chelsea has been a fantastic experience that has allowed me to develop as a player. The fans have welcomed me so quickly, and I really enjoy being at this club and playing for these fans’.
The 25-year-old failed to make an impact for Spain at the ongoing 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil, having headed into the tournament on the back of a brilliant 2013-14 campaign for Atletico.
‘In the games I’ve watched, both domestically and internationally, I’ve not seen anything in Costa that makes me think, you are unbelievable’, he told talkSPORT. ‘I know he’s been injured, and has probably been rushed back, but I haven’t seen a spark, that sharpness or any sort of finishing quality. Even if you’re injured, you hit the target’.
