There have been developments in the Mario Balotelli chase as AC Milan are apparently ready to sell the player this summer. Arsenal are believed to be one of a few teams keen on the player this summer - with Arsene Wenger believing he is the perfect striker to add depth to their thin attacking line-up.
Reports in Italy suggest that he is available for a fee in the region of £29 million and Arsenal are believed to be happy on meeting that valuation.
Balotelli, famous for his headline making spell at Manchester City, is said to be warming to the idea of a move back to the Premier League this summer.
Arsenal club captain Thomas Vermaelen has revealed he has nothing set in stone regarding a desire to leave the club this summer - despite being linked heavily with a move to Manchester United this week.
He did not however rule out a future departure:
"I know there has been a lot of talk and a lot of rumours but the only thing I can say is that it's not true. Everybody understands my situation at Arsenal and that I have one year left. I understand that people are going to talk but I am [at the World Cup] in Brazil and I am enjoying my time and I'm focused on what I am doing. [Arsene Wenger and I] talk a lot when I am at Arsenal but it's not what I am going to discuss here, it is something you are going to have to ask him."
Arsenal are again being linked with a move for VfL Wolfsburg defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo. The Brazilian international was heavily linked with a move to the club last summer, but in the end decided to join up with the Bundesliga outfit.
However, after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League, he is believed to be open to the possibility of a change in scenery.
He has a release clause of £26 million in his current contract.
