Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Sacrifices in move for Lukaku, £16m defender blow

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino could offload Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado to try and sign Romelu Lukaku.

The Mirror claims the double exit is possible following reports Chelsea have slapped a huge £32 million asking price on Lukaku’s head.

Adebayor was one of Tottenham’s best players last season while Soldado struggled following a move from Valencia.

The Daily Express has claimed that the future of Benfica star Ezequiel Garay will be settled by the end of this week.

Tottenham, along with Manchester United, have been linked with a £16 million move for the centre-back.

However, Russian side Zenit St Petersburg are thought to be in the driving seat to sign him.

The Metro claims Spurs have already moved on a deal to sign ex-Manchester United defender John O’Shea.

The experienced centre-back has been linked with a White Hart Lane move in a cost effective transfer this summer.

However, it doesn’t represent the high profile signing that the majority would have been hoping for.
