Robbie Savage tells England defenders to 'smash' Suarez fairly

Luis Suarez Penalty Claim

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez could be fit to face England, but how will England handle him?

Luis Suarez appears to be fit to start against England, in a potential blow to the Three Lions' World Cup chances.

The decisive game between the two countries who are both winless after one game will pit the Premier League Golden Boot winner against a defence which shipped two against Italy.

Suarez spoke earlier in the week to state he felt there were weaknesses in the England defence he could exploit, but his own lack of match practice will give Roy Hodgson's men an edge themselves.

BBC pundit and former Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage believes there is a robust approach England's defenders must take to Suarez.

Savage's approach is a cynical one, but also a dangerous one. Suarez is known for embellishing fouls, as much as his free-kick ability.

So England could end up losing out by trying to rough-handle Suarez, by not only conceding a costly set-piece, but picking up a booking or worse, and having the Uruguayan punish them for it.

Out of respect you would not think Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard would take the same approach, and let's remember - Robbie Savage's definition of a fair challenge, may be very different to most.
