Metta World Peace falls victim to Amar’e Stoudemire prank

Artest World Peace

Former La Laker tricked by New York Knicks' Stoudemire.

Cousin Sal’s pranks on the Jimmy Kimmel Show are prolific. This is the second time Metta World Peace has been caught unawares by Cousin Sal’s craftiness (real name Salvatore Lacono).

Metta World Peace is picked up in a Limo, unaware that the driver is in fact Cousin Sal in disguise. Amar’e passes on instructions from a nearby surveillance van. You can watch what happens next.

What can we take away from this hilarious episode? Metta World Peace is finished with basketball.

When Cousin Sals asks him if he is a basketball player he bluntly replies “No. A long time ago, but those days are gone.”

Now it’s hard to tell if he was being completely serious. After all he clearly was in no mood to indulge the fake chauffeur. But it has emerged that he has accepted an offer to be the assistant coach of the Palisades High School girls basketball team, for which his daughter plays. Not necessarily a sign of someone calling it quits in the NBA, but it certainly looks that way.

The defensive specialist averaged 5 points per game in 13 minutes for the Knicks this past season before being released by the Knicks in February.
