Arsenal are joining the race for Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, according to reports this morning. The Chilean has been in sensational form for his nation at this summer's World Cup in Brazil. However his future with Barcelona has been cast into doubt recently after a campaign in which he was not a regular for the Catalan side.

The 25-year-old, who is said to be interesting Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool, would be a costly addition but could represent the perfect follow-up to the signature of Mesut Ozil last summer.

Arsenal youngster Joel Campbell is hoping a good showing at this summer's World Cup could help him make it at The Gunners. The Costa Rica forward has already impressed at the tournament, shining in the shock win against Uruguay.

His dad Humberto has been talking to the Daily Mail and stated:

"If they bring him back home to Arsenal I will be very happy.vIf they don’t then wherever they send him he just has to go and keep his feet on the ground. He has always been good enough. He just needs them to give him the chance. I always had it in mind that Arsene knows what is best for young ones. He always makes good players. Unfortunately he didn’t want to play Joel when he was 18 but maybe he will when he is 21."

Arsenal are eyeing up Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic once again, as an alternative to number one target Mario Balotelli. The Bayern Munich star wants a Bundesliga exit after the arrival of Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena.

He scored twice for his country last night in a 4-0 thrashing of African outfit Cameroon. Arsenal are after striker support for their long suffering front man Olivier Giroud.
