Tottenham keen on Romelu Lukaku... and John O'Shea
Rumours linking Romelu Lukaku to Tottenham appeared to have drifted away, but they are back. The Mirror claim the Belgian is Tottenham's top target as they look to re-shuffle their strike force.
Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor are up for sale, with Monaco interested in the latter. Lukaku is reportedly open to exploring his options, but it would be a big surprise if Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho sanctioned the sale of the Belgian to a rival Premier League club especially after the criticism he took simply for loaning him out last season.
Spurs are also linked with a surprise £3 million swoop for Sunderland's John O'Shea. We have taken a look at how he compares to their current crop of defenders.
Arsenal make moves on Mario Balotelli
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is claimed to be making it his personal mission to sign Mario Balotelli from AC Milan. Goal.com report that Wenger has a meeting arranged with Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola as soon as this weekend, where he can thrash out the framework of a deal.
The Metro report that Arsenal are willing to offer Balotelli personal terms of £180,000 a week, which is an increase on the £150,000 including bonuses which he earns at the Serie A side. A £25 million transfer fee has previously been mooted.
Buttner heading out of Manchester United?
Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner is close to leaving Manchester United, with the player admitting he is seeking an exit. The left-back was reportedly discouraged about his own prospects as soon as Patrice Evra was offered a new deal, and does not intend to stick around and work alongside countryman Louis van Gaal.
Buttner expects to move to Russian side Dinamo Moscow, write the Manchester Evening News, claiming a deal could be done as soon as this week.
