Former Chelsea star, Salomon Kalou has revealed that the Ivory Coast are treating Manchester United target, James Rodriquez as Columbia's "danger man".
Former Chelsea winger Salomon Kalou has revealed Ivory Coast's plans to target Premier League bound James Rodriguez. Speaking ahead of the clash between Ivory Coast and Colombia, Kalou said, "It's clear that the forwards of Columbia are the strength of this team. We saw that their domination over Greece wasn't fake, they scored 3 goals".
Columbia eased to a 3-0 at the hands of Greece in their first match and Rodriguez was the play-maker who orchestrated the Columbian attacks. Kalou has singled out the Manchester United target as the danger-man, "Columbia forwards like James Rodriguez who played well for Monaco in Ligue1, has improved and was one of the best in their game against Greece, so we have to take Columbia's players seriously".
The Ivory Coast only just overcame a relentless Japanese side who took the lead against the Elephants. Thanks to goals from Gervinho and Wilfired Bony, the African team came back to win the tie, 2-1. They will want to make sure they get into the game as quickly as possible and stop Rodriguez from playing.
A tough game on the cards for both sides, Rodriguez will be ready to run at the Ivorian defence and cause problems. After watching the Japan game, the Monaco player will feel he has the capabilities to upset the African side with his pace and dribbling ability.
What proves to be a tasty affair, will the Ivory Coast have enough to nullify the danger man that is James Rodriguez?
