Mega-popular YouTube star, PewDiePie, earns a staggering $4 million USD in ad sales a year, for playing video games.

Felix Kjellberg isn’t your regular 24 year old, he’s one of the most popular video creators on YouTube, with over 27 million subscribers. Under the alias ‘PewDiePie’, Felix primarily creates ‘Let’s Play’ videos – simply videos that show him playing various video games whilst he voices his reactions and opinions, albeit it in his own unique way.

In a recent report from The Wall Street Journal, it’s stated that Kjellberg nets the equivalent of $4 million USD in ad sales per year, and that most of it is profit.

Initially starting out on YouTube in 2009, Kjellberg’s subscribers skyrocketed from 3.5 million at the end of 2012, to over a massive 19 million by the end of 2013. Kjellberg is also signed on with Maker Studios, a production company for online content that was recently bought by Disney.
