Spain face a massive test of character this evening, when they face Chile in a do or die World Cup Group Stage match.
It comes after Chile defeated Australia and Spain were monumentally thrashed by The Netherlands 5-1 last week - leaving them needing a win against Chile to get back into contention in this tough group.
One player getting behind the team yesterday was their young goalkeeper David De Gea. The Manchester United man took to Twitter to post an inspiring message, highlighting the attitude in the Spain camp that nothing is over yet.
Here is the Tweet ...
We want and we can. This group doesn't surrender. Thanks for all supporting messages! #VamosEspaña— David De Gea (@D_DeGea) June 17, 2014
For De Gea though, many feel he should be more than just cheerleader at this World Cup. He only made his debut for Los Rojos just before the World Cup. He is only here because Barcelona's Victor Valdes has a serious cruciate ligament injury.
But the consensus in Spain after the horror show couple of moments from Iker Casillas against Holland, was that it was time the young buck earned his spurs.
However, even if Vicente Del Bosque was considering giving him the nod that will not happen now. He has a leg injury and is out of the Group Stage with the problem - leaving just Casillas and Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina as his alternative.
