Chelsea transfer news: Blues price Spurs out of Lukaku race? Costa alternative emerges

Romelu Lukaku for Chelsea

A round up of transfer stories about Chelsea this morning.

The Metro claims Chelsea have slapped a £32 million price tag on striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian has been linked with several moves away from the club this summer with Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs thought to be interested.

The fee could price Tottenham out of the race to sign him after they spent £100 million on new players last summer.

The Express claims Chelsea could be interested in a £40 million swoop for Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.

Rooney could be a potential Diego Costa alternative if a move for the Spanish international falls through.

Rooney was widely linked with a move to Chelsea last summer before David Moyes convinced him to stay at United and sign a new contract.

The Express also claims that Chelsea are considering a late offer for Hamburg star Hakan Calhanoglu.

The Turkish forward is reportedly close to a move to Bayer Leverkusen and some reports have even suggested he has a verbal agreement to join them.

Chelsea are thought to be preparing a late bid in order to try and change the forward’s mind.
