Chelsea so far have become one of the most active teams in the transfer market over the summer by selling David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain and later concluding a deal for Cesc Fabregas.
The former Arsenal midfielder was heavily linked with a return to the Gunners, but after Arsene Wenger opted against singing him, a persuading Jose Mourinho convinced him to join Chelsea in a reported £27million deal.
Cesc Fabregas has spoken out of his excitement at joining the West London club, and in his latest interview the 27-year-old revealed that the Blues are on the verge of creating a great team, with more signings expected to join him at Stamford Bridge.
“They are on the verge of creating a great team with new signings. Personally, I know I’m going to be happy, but it depends how the football goes. I have lived there [in London] for eight years and I’m sure it is going to be fine.” He said, quoted by Goal Espana.
Despite not alluding to names, at least two new signings Cesc Fabregas could be referring to are Atletico Madrid duo Filipe Luis and Diego Costa.
Chelsea boss Mourinho appears a big fan of Brazilian-born Diego Costa, with the striker displaying strength, speed, power and most importantly killer instincts in-front of goal, demonstrated by his 36 goals in 52 appearances last season.
With a reported release clause of £32million, the La Liga club know they are in a vulnerable position and such deal could hinge solely on how much the player wants it.
Filipe Luis, on the other hand, has all-but decided that he wants to move to Stamford Bridge if reports are to be believed and his transfer fee appears the only stumbling block in finalising another huge deal this summer.
Likewise, Cesc Fabregas may have been promised yet more signings to accompany him at Chelsea in the near future, as the club looks ahead to a new successful era.
