Reina: At moment I'm staying at Liverpool

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has admitted that if things stay as they are he will remain at Anfield despite interest from Napoli.

Pepe Reina doesn't appear to have a future at Liverpool but he could end up staying at the club if he can't agree a move elsewhere.

The Spanish international spent last season on loan to Serie A side Napoli and became a favourite with the fans at the Stadio San Paolo.

Napoli coach Rafa Benitez has attempted to keep his compatriot on a permanent basis, but Reina's wages appear to be a significant stumbling block.

Reina has always stressed that his future depends on Liverpool and he has now given the first hint that he may stay put.

"My future? For now I will return to Liverpool," Reina is quoted as saying in Spanish newspaper Marca.

"I have a two-year contract with Liverpool and there is no other news at the moment."

Reina had been linked to La Liga sides Barcelona and Atletico Madrid but both clubs seem to have found alternative goalkeepers for next season.

Napoli are said to be still keen to find a way of bringing Reina back especially after their 'keeper Rafael Cabral suffered a knee injury, but Benitez has given indications that he believes a deal is impossible.
