He was a heavy favourite from the start and it is no surprise that Southampton have gone with Ronald Koeman as Mauricio Pochettino's replacement.
Koeman resigned from the Feyernoord job in May after leading them to second place in the Eredivisie and he has now signed a three-year-contract with The Saints.
The Dutchman has also managed Benfica, Ajax, Valencia and PSV in his time as well as playing for Barcelona so he will have some great contacts in the game. His first task will be to try and keep hold of players such as Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw but he will be keen to make moves in the transfer market himself.
The 51-year-old holds the record for the most ever goals scored by a defender with 193 league goals in 533 games and after the departure of Rickie Lambert, Koeman will be looking to bring goals into the side.
Here are three players Koeman could look to bring in:
Lex Immers - Feyenoord
Having spent the last three years in charge of Feyenoord, Koeman will know who is good enough to make a move to the Premier League and has already been linked with Lex Immers.
BBC Radio Solent have reported the 28-year-old midfielder as his top target and he would bring goals to the side having scored 24 for Feyenoord in his two seasons at the club. Has spent his whole career in The Netherlands but would surely jump at the chance to move to England.
Virgil Van Dijk - Celtic
The very highly-rated Virgil Van Dijk had an impressive for season with Celtic which has seen him come to the attention of Premier League clubs. He arrived from FC Groningen for £2.2 million last summer and played 47 games for the Scottish champions last season.
Koeman has already been linked with a move for the 22-year-old via The Scotsman but they aren't the only club thought to be interested. Arsenal have been credited with eyeing up Van Dijk as a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen.
Graziano Pelle - Feyenoord
Another Feyenoord player Koeman could return to his former club for is Graziano Pelle. The 28-year-old Italian striker has had two wonderful seasons with the Rotterdam club. Initially joining on loan from Parma in 2012 Pelle became the first Italian to play for the club and had a wonderful start to his career.
The move was made permanent in January 2013 and at the end of his first season he finished with 27 goals in 29 league games. The best figures for an Italian playing outside of Italy. Last season was almost as good when he scored 23 in 28 games. Leicester City have been linked with a £8 million move for the striker which represents a good value deal.
