Griezmann, who currently plays for Real Sociedad, says that he spends a lot of time with the Real Madrid man and thanked him for his 'recommendations' on the pitch.
"We spend a fair amount of time together, we like having fun," the 23-year-old said. "You can also see that we often post pictures of the two of us on social networks.
"On the field he gives me a lot of recommendations. I thank him for that, and I try to help the team as much as I can."
Griezmann was handed the start on the left for France against Honduras by manager Didier Deschamps, while Benzema was preferred up front to Arsenal's Olivier Giroud.
Neither player disappointed. Benzema scored two and his shot led to an own goal, while Griezmann hit the crossbar in the first half and looked lively throughout.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is in the market for a striker to play either alongside or in place of Giroud, and the French pair are likely to be near the top of his list.
Griezmann scored 16 goals last season for Real Sociedad to attract the interest of the Gunners boss, who is also a longtime admirer of Benzema's talents.
Arsenal fans will no doubt be hoping that Wenger is able to attract one of the pair to the club, and that their close relationship will cause the other to follow.
