Could the New York Knicks coveted free-agent-to-be sign with the Dallas Mavericks?
Former NBA MVP Dirk Nowitski has said he would welcome Carmelo Anthony with open arms.
All-Star Carmelo is expected to become a free agent, with the prospects of him renewing with the Knicks still uncertain.
Nowitzki said in an interview on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas: "If Carmelo would really love to come here, we'd love to have him.
"I think I've shown over my career that I can play with anybody. I'll adjust, whether I have to get out of the way or go to the corner more, post up, pass. I'll do whatever, really, that needs to be done out there to win or for this franchise to be a winner."
ESPN New York's Ian Begley commented that the Mavs are 'on the list of teams Carmelo would consider', citing their talented roster and salary cap space.
New York have not given up on convincing Carmelo to renew, with Miami Heat also interested.
The Mavs took eventual NBA Championship winners San Antonio Spurs to Game 7 in the opening round of the play-offs.
