Stamford Bridge Outside

All the latest Chelsea transfer news including a Mesut Ozil clone wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool, Manchester United forward and Atletico Madrid defender.

Not intent on resting on their transfer market laurels, Chelsea are speculatively-linked with adding yet another gifted chance creator to their ranks.

While Francesc Fabregas is a recruit for the present, the link to HSV wonderkid Hakan Calhanoglu, 20, who is dubbed the next Mesut Ozil, would be one for the future.

A versatile attacker, the Turkish player is competent on the left flank (where he played most frequently in Germany), as well as central, on the right and even as a striker. In the Bundesliga season last term, he returned a commendable 11 goals and four assists.

However, Chelsea are not the only suitor interested in the youngster, as Arsenal and Liverpool are both reportedly keen.

As for their signing for the present, Cesc, a former Gunner himself who has naturally become a target for embittered Arsenal supporters. Fabregas' decision to join London rivals Chelsea has prompted a social media backlash, with some fans even burning the player's number four Emirates Stadium jersey.

Addressing the situation, Fabregas said: "I’m mature enough for that not to hurt. I have explained it well. I’ve always been very loyal and grateful to Arsenal.

"There was a first option they could exercise, I talked with Arsene Wenger and he told me that the area was covered with Mesut Ozil, but there is always fans who want to cause trouble."

One player who is delighted by Cesc's arrival is his international team-mate Fernando Torres: "I wish [Fabregas] could have joined us a couple of years earlier," he said.

"He is a blessing for strikers, he always looks to find that final key pass; he's the type of player Chelsea don't have."

While the club are set to announce a deal for Diego Costa, who has appeared likely to join the Stamford Bridge roster for many months now, the Brazil-born Spaniard may not be the only forward Chelsea strike a deal for as The Express claim that Jose Mourinho will reignite interest in under-fire England international Wayne Rooney.

Really?

And finally, talks with left back target Filipe Luis, who is employed by the same club as Costa, are at "an advanced stage."
