Chelsea transfer news: Mourinho makes call on Ramires as Real consider Modric as bait

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has rejected claims the club could sell Ramires to Real Madrid.

Stories started breaking last week that the Brazilian could be open to a La Liga switch but Mourinho has dismissed the idea ahead of the new season.

“Ramires is staying at Chelsea. He is not for sale. I have an excellent friendship with important people within Real Madrid and they know that Ramires is going to stay at Chelsea,” the boss is quoted by the Express.

However, reports this morning suggest that Real Madrid could offer Luka Modric as an incentive to get the Blues to do a deal for Ramires.

The Daily Star claims Los Blancos are willing to let Modric go if they get their hands on the Brazilian midfielder.

Modric is a player who has been periodically linked with Chelsea, dating back to his days at Spurs.

Inter Milan believe they can use Mauro Icardi as an ace in the race to sign Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian has been linked with several moves away from Stamford Bridge, where his future will come under intense doubt if Jose Mourinho signs Diego Costa.

The 21-year-old Inter Milan star would represent a decent long term prospect for Jose Mourinho if he took the deal.
