Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Spurs to rival United for Janmaat, London rivals eye up current midfielder

A round up of transfer stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Tottenham are reportedly the main rivals to Manchester United in the race to sign right-back Daryl Janmaat.

The Feyenoord defender is a key part of the Netherlands defence Louis van Gaal has taken to the World Cup.

A fee of around £6 million has been mentioned but that could increase if a bidding war breaks out between the two clubs.

Crystal Palace are reportedly considering a move for Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore.

Livermore was on loan at Hull City last season and could be moved on permanently by new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Palace could make an initial offer of around £6.5 million though Spurs could hold out for a higher fee.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be seriously considering a bid for Inter Milan’s Ricardo Alvarez.

The midfielder was strongly linked with a move to White Hart Lane last week after a break in negotiations over a new deal at the Serie A giants.

Tottenham could make an initial £8 million offer to test the water over the player.
