Arsenal transfer news: Campbell will return and Lichtsteiner to be scouted

All the latest transfer news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

Arsenal youngster Joel Campbell has revealed he fully expects to be an Arsenal player next season - and not be out on loan.

The Costa Rican, who is now a national hero after leading his side to a 3-1 win against Uruguay at the World Cup, has been in stunning form for Olympiakos this season - and after catching the eye last night he might become a target for many interested clubs.

But he is positive about his future at Arsenal and despite not wanting to be distracted from the World Cup issues at hand, he is keen to stress he will return to the club after the tournament:

"Of course I have to go back because I have a contract with Arsenal but the most important thing just now is my country and the World Cup."

Arsenal will make a bid for Everton right-back Seamus Coleman this summer. Bacary Sagna, the long serving man in that position for The Gunners, has joined Manchester City on a Bosman so a replacement has to be signed.

And Coleman is said to be high on the list of names Arsene Wenger is considering for the role - although Everton are under no pressure to sell the Irishman.

Another name being linked with the position is Stephan Lichtsteiner of Juventus - who Wenger will reportedly scout this evening.

The flying full-back, nicknamed Forest Gump, is in action for Switzerland v Ecuador at the World Cup later and Wenger will cast an eye over the player to assess his suitability for the role at The Emirates.
