Predicted Liverpool XI for next season - Including Moreno and Pedro

Here's what Brendan Rodgers' team could look like next season.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been one of the most proactive coaches since the end of last season.

He quickly dealt with the issue of his own contract before pushing on and securing two signings in the form of Rickie Lambert and Emre Can. The Liverpool boss shouldn’t stop there and is still reportedly working on a number of deals, which will improve the squad next season.

Here’s how Liverpool could shape up for there first Premier League game next season.

GK – Simon Mignolet

Mignolet played well last season and dealt with dips in his own form. Whether he plays for Belgium at the World Cup or not, he’ll be the number one next season.

RB – Glen Johnson

If Johnson doesn’t pick up an injury at the tournament in Brazil then he’ll start the season as the club’s primary right-back.

CB – Martin Skrtel

Skrtel did the basics of defending well last season and he should be determined to ensure that Liverpool’s entire back four is more difficult to get through next season.

CB – Mamadou Sakho

At times last season he was shaky and looked vulnerable. However, at others he looked like a solid investment and someone who will be better off for a year in English football.

LB – Alberto Moreno

A deal for Moreno has stalled because of the way Sevilla want the deal structured. However, the Reds still stand a good chance of getting it done and he’d be a quality addition to the back four.

RM – Raheem Sterling

Pace and control over possession on the counter attack. Teams will be wiser to his threat but he has to start.

CM – Jordan Henderson

Liverpool’s most versatile midfield man. It doesn’t matter where he’s asked to play, he digs in and does an effective job.

CM – Steven Gerrard

Liverpool’s captain will start in the heart of the midfield. He’s the leader and keeps the middle of the team organised.

AM – Philippe Coutinho

Coutinho has just got better and better since he first joined the side. He’s effective in behind the striker or playing off of the left.

LM – Pedro

What Liverpool are missing is a player similar to Sterling who can play down either side. Pedro would be a top quality signing and would surely be in contention to start.

ST – Luis Suarez

Suarez would start as the main man up front. His ability to play effectively and score goals for the Reds is well known.
