How would Spurs line up under Pochettino with their current squad?

Which players would make it in to Pochettino's side if he picked a team tomorrow?

Considering the tactics Mauricio Pochettino employed at Southampton, as well as his preferred formation of 4-2-3-1, it is possible to try and predict how the new Tottenham coach will set up his side and which players he will seek to employ.

Below we list what would likely be Pochettino's chosen eleven if he were to select his side from the players currently available.

GK Hugo Lloris - The Argentine has already made it clear that he intends to keep the French number one at the club, and with good reason too considering he is one of the best stoppers in the league.

DR Kyle Walker - Walker is likely to be the preferred option at right back, after rival Kyle Naughton had a disastrous game as Spurs narrowly beat Southampton 3-2 at White Hart Lane in March.

DC Jan Vertonghen - Despite an up and down season last year, the Belgian is undoubtedly the club's top central defender, and whoever comes in to reinforce that position should be merely to partner the former Ajax man.

DC Vlad Chiriches - The second central defensive spot is hard to predict, but Chiriches is chosen given his youth and the uncertainty on the future of Younes Kaboul and club captain Michael Dawson.

DL Danny Rose - Though the left back position is an area some would say needs strengthening, the energy and attacking prowess of Rose make him preferable to the likes of Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

MC Sandro - At St Mary's, the Argentine employed Victor Wanyama as a destructive midfielder to great effect, and for this reason the Brazilian may be preferred to his compatriot Paulinho.

MC Mousa Dembele - Though he doesn't have the passing ability of Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin, Dembele is a capable deep lying playmaker, and is also able to contribute defensively.

RW Erik Lamela - Like Lloris, Pochettino is eager to keep his fellow Argentine at White Hart Lane, and will seek to encourage the youngster to access his undeniable talent.

CAM Christian EriksenOne of Spurs' best performers last year, the new manager would find it hard to drop the Dane even if he wanted to.

LW Andros Townsend - Previous reports linked the England winger to Southampton when Pochettino was still in charge, and he is likely to be preferred to the disappointing Aaron Lennon.

CF Emmanuel Adebayor - Several sources this week suggested Adebayor will remain the centre of Tottenham's attacking plans, though he will have to work on his consistency if he is to keep his spot.
