Arsenal transfer news: Reina targeted and Vela transfer twist

All the latest transfer news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

Arsenal star Santi Cazorla is reportedly keen on a move to Atletico Madrid. The La Liga champions are said to be keen on the Spanish international - who was The Gunners player of the year in 2012-13.

The talented playmaker, who has previously played for Malaga and Villarreal, is reportedly happy with the link and could make the move.

Atletico are reportedly readying a €20 million move for the player as they look to improve on a team being pillaged by some of the biggest teams in Europe.

However Cazorla recently signed a new deal at Arsenal while he is also believed to be happy at the club - so a deal seems unlikely.

Arsenal are believed to be looking at Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina - in order to challenge Wojciech Szczesny for the number one spot at the club.

Arsene Wenger is a long term fan of the Spanish stopper, who spent last season on loan at Napoli.

Rafa Benitez has confirmed that Reina will leave the Italian club this summer - as they refuse to meet his wage demands.

But with Lukasz Fabianski on his way to Swansea City Arsenal could be willing to hand Reina a Premier League reprieve, but whether he would manage to become number one remains to be seen.

Arsenal want to sign Carlos Vela, but he may not remain at the club.

Vela wants to stay at Real Sociedad, but The Gunners will exercise their buy-back clause this summer.

However they may sell him on immediately after bringing him back to The Emirates.
