Jose Mourinho was in a light-hearted mood when he penned his latest contribution for Yahoo.
The Chelsea manager wrote about strike target Diego Costa, of Atletico Madrid as he "hopes" that the prolific Brazil-born Spanish hit-man "has a normal World Cup, no injuries and good holidays." Mourinho added: "I hope next season he can have a fantastic season."
The likelihood is that Costa will star for the Blues next term, as a £32 million switch from Madrid to London appears to be a foregone conclusion.
The cause of Mourinho's good mood may have been his knowledge that the Cesc Fabregas deal was all wrapped up and awaiting official confirmation.
A statement on the club's website was released just hours ago, confessing their "delight" in announcing the Fabregas coup, who joins on a five-year deal.
Fabregas spoke of how he has "unfinished business" in the Premier League and lauded Mourinho as "an incredible manager".
Goalkeeper Petr Cech welcomed the player to the club: "He's a a great player with a lot of experience of playing in England and the Premier League so it's a great addition to the team."
Fabregas' addition to the SW6 roster may have ramifications for other members of the playing staff, like John Obi Mikel, who could be surplus to requirements. Super Deportes note Valencia's interest in the player, while Internazionale are also allegedly keen.
One player who Mourinho is intent on keeping is Eden Hazard, as the boss said his "door was closed" when it comes to any conversation regarding his availability.
Potentially available Romelu Lukaku, though, has rejected West Ham United - for the second summer running.
