Spurs, Arsenal and United all linked as Ogbonna's agent plans England trip

According to reports, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are all interested in discussing Angelo Ogbonna's future.

Italian Newspaper TuttoSport claim that Angelo Ogbonna’s agent is set to travel to England this weekend for talks with at least three Premier League clubs - thought to be Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old found himself in and out of the Juventus team last season as he battled for a starting spot, alongside Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci. However, at the end of the season, although injuries didn’t help, he had the least game time out of the four centre-backs.

Nevertheless, the highly-rated defender still won the plaudits for his performances at the heart of the Juventus defence and was lauded for the athleticism he brought to the incredibly solid Juventus backline.

Therefore, the interest from the three Premier League clubs should have been expected as they all look to get a top-level defender at a cut-price due to the heavy competition to get a starting spot in the Juventus side.

The agent of the defender is expected to travel to London to drum up some interest in his client and hopefully start a dialogue that could get the highly-rated defender a move to the Premier League next season.

But what could Ogbonna bring to the team he signs for?

An all-action defender, he certainly possesses the qualities it takes to make it in the Premier League. For example, he is described as an athletic defender due to his strength, power, pace and desire, as well as his composed passing ability, which allows him to join in the build-up of attacking movements.

Nevertheless, he isn’t the perfect defender and in the past he has guilty of being caught out of position or making the wrong decision at the wrong time, but these occurrences are few and far between.

What he does offer, more than anything, is a willing runner that will put his body on the line to get to the ball first and an ability to match any striker physically man-to-man.

He, in my opinion, could turn out to be an exceptional signing for all three teams interested.
