No Final Fantasy VII remake yet, but we do get a G-Bike app!

Final Fantasy VII G-Bike Screen 1

Square Enix have announced that an app based around the iconic FFVII G-Bike mini-game will be coming to mobile devices.

If you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy games, particularly VII, then you’re in luck. Sure, they’re not giving us the FF VII remake we all want, but Square Enix are bringing the awesome G-Bike mini game to iPhone and Android.

The bike escape sequence from Midgar was one of the most iconic moments in FF VII, and definitely one of my favourites. Plus it was also playable as a mini-game at the Gold Saucer amusement park later on in the game.

In this new G-Bike app it will feature many missions, with character customisation and RPG elements. You will be able to fight monsters from FF VII using Cloud’s fighting techniques, all whilst riding the bike and dodging obstacles.

In the announcement trailer below you will see Cloud gunning it down the highway from the escape of Midgar sequence in FF VII, all whilst try trying to take down a boss and stay on his bike.

Final Fantasy VII G-Bike will be free to download, but it will come with in-app purchases – a release date is yet to be confirmed.
