We bring you all the biggest news surrounding clubs in the Midlands that has broken in the last 24 hours.
1) Leicester City are chasing Vincent Aboubakar
Leicester City are hoping to break their transfer record and sign Vicent Aboubakar from FC Lorient, the Leicester Mercury report.
Aboubakar, who is set to play at the World Cup with Cameroon, has impressed in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 15 times in 33 games.
And it is thought that he is now at the top of Nigel Pearson’s list of transfer targets as he looks to bolster his squad for their upcoming Premier League campaign.
If the Foxes are to sign the striker they will have to beat Chelsea to him, with the London club also interested in the pacey front-man.
It is also likely they will have to pay more than they ever have on a player before if they are to sign the 22-year-old. Their current record stands at £5.3million for Ade Akinbiyi.
2) Stoke want Bordeaux youngster
Stoke City are looking to bring in Bordeaux starlet Hadi Sacko, according to reports in France.
The Potters have already been busy this transfer window, securing the transfers of four new signings before the players have even returned for pre-season training, but Mark Hughes is still keen to add to his squad.
He is thought to have identified Sacko as a potential target, too, having seen him play in Ligue 2 last season for Le Havre, where he was on loan at last season.
3) Wolves bid for Callum Wilson rejected
Wolverhampton Wanderers are thought to have had a bid of over £1 million rejected for Coventry City striker Callum Wilson, according to the Bournemouth Echo.
Wilson was one of the best players in League One last season, scoring 21 goals over the course of the season despite spending a period of it out injured.
Kenny Jackett – and three other Championship sides, including Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest – are now looking to secure the transfer of Wilson and hopes that he can convince the youngster to join the club.
4) Wes Thomas signed by Birmingham City
Wes Thomas has completed a move to Birmingham City today.
The former Rotherham United striker was available on a free transfer and Lee Clark wasted no time in offering Thomas a deal, after seeing how good a player he was when he was on loan at Blues in 2013.
In that spell at the club he scored three goals in 11 appearances and he will be hoping that he can score the goals to help Birmingham avoid a repeat of last season’s relegation battle.
5) Jordan Bowery has nothing but praise for former manager Paul Lambert
Jordan Bowery has revealed that he has Paul Lambert's best wishes as he departs Aston Villa for Rotherham United today.
Bowery said he has enjoyed his time at Villa Park, but is also excited by his new challenge as he joins the Championship side.
He said to the Express and Star: “Paul Lambert rang me to say ‘I’ve got a great move for you;.
“He said to ‘go and play there and grab it with both hands it’s a good club, it’s on the up and you’ll do great things there’.
“It was a massive jump from League Two to the Premier League but I enjoyed it.
