Five transfer targets that could be more expensive after the World Cup

Ross Barkley

Featuring Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid targets.

1) Ross Barkley

Liverpool were reportedly offering £38 million for the 20-year-old England starlet which Roberto Martinez laughed off. I suspect he is valued closer to £30m by Everton but his value could rise to £40m if he explodes onto the word stage this summer.

Linked clubs: Manchester United & Liverpool.

2) Toni Kroos

Manchester United have been heavily linked with the Germany attacker who is somewhat unsettled at Bayern Munich. The Red Devils have been linked with a £40 million offer in the midfielder who has one year left on his contract, which, if he fails to agree a new deal, could see his price drop dramatically – unless he steals the show in Brazil, which is highly likely this summer, and could see a bidding war ensue between Europe’s elite.

Linked clubs: Manchester United & Real Madrid.

3) Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea are reportedly demanding £25 million from potential suitors for the 21-year-old Belgium striker who has been on loan at Everton this term. He will be the star of the show for Belgium up front, I’d expect and links with Arsenal and Atletico Madrid could well be joined by a number of other top clubs at home and abroad. Provided Chelsea don’t use him as a bargaining chip for Diego Costa, his value could rise £10-£15 million by the time the transfer window opens in July.

Linked clubs: Everton, Arsenal & Ateltico Madrid.

4) Antoine Griezmann

The 23-year-old Frenchman is currently linked with a move to the Premier League valued around £18 million. He set La Liga on fire this term but if he can replicate his form at the World Cup, the Real Sociedad winger could be the subject of a bidding war across Europe’s elite.

Linked clubs: Arsenal, Manchester United & Real Madrid.

5) Mario Balotelli

The controversial Italian is already well-known across the globe, as much for his antics on and off the field as his goal scoring but the AC Milan midfielder has the chance to prove himself as world class this summer with Italy. He is reportedly valued around £30 million but the former Manchester City striker’s stock could skyrocket towards £50 million if he finds his shooting boots this summer.

Linked clubs: Monaco, Arsenal, Chelsea
