Polyphony Digital Inc.’s Gran Turismo returns to the biggest motor festival in the UK this month, and you could win a ride in an Aston Martin.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual motorsport event held each year within the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex, UK. Last year was the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo series, and this year it’s an official partner of the festival for the second year in a row.
The event will play host to the largest collection of full-scale Vision Gran Turismo concept cars too, which were designed to mark the game’s 15th anniversary last year, and can be driven in Gran Turismo 6.
Vision Gran Turismo was the concoction of the game’s creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, who will be checking out the range of concept cars this year before he takes on the world-renowned Goodwood Hill Climb himself.
Lord March, who manages the Goodwood estate, said, “"We are incredibly excited to welcome Gran Turismo 6 to Goodwood for the second consecutive year. The depth of Gran Turismo activities and Vision Gran Turismo concept car unveils taking place is impressive and we are delighted that the Festival of Speed has been chosen as a platform to showcase such innovative and visionary partnerships across the automotive industry. It will also be a great honour to welcome Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi to Goodwood who will support these host of activities first hand, including taking on our Hillclimb."
A time trial competition in Gran Turismo 6, due to close on 15 June, will see players try and place the fastest time on the Goodwood Hillclimb track. The winner will be invited the festival where they will get to ride in an Aston Martin sports car on the real track. Players who get Bronze, Silver, or Gold awards in the time trial will receive 1,000,000 in-game Credits.
