Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard all appear in a ranking of the richest 10 players taking part in Brazil compiled by Wealth-X. No other country has three players in the list though Ivory Coast has two: Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure.
Rooney is the wealthiest England player with a fortune estimated at $95m (£57m). Lampard is in seventh place with $60m and Gerrard is one place below with $55m.
Ronaldo's wealth makes up almost a quarter of the $955m total for the top 10. Only Messi and Italy's Gianluigi Buffon have not amassed some of their money playing in the English Premier League.
All the players on the list are strikers or midfielders apart from Buffon, who is Italy's goalkeeper.
David Beckham, along with his wife Victoria, is richer than any of the players at this year's World Cup, with an estimated worth of £210m.
The World Cup kicks off tomorrow when hosts Brazil play Croatia. England are joint sixth favourites to win alongside four other teams at odds of 25-1.
