Manchester United transfer news: Shaw ‘agrees £8m-a-year deal’; midfielder price drops to £12m

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Luke Shaw has agreed to a deal that will see him earn £160,000-a-week at Manchester United according to Goal.

Reports yesterday claimed Shaw had told current club Southampton that he wanted a move to Old Trafford at the end of the last campaign. But the latest story goes one further, suggesting the England international has agreed personal terms with United.

The deal will reportedly see Shaw become the highest paid teenager in football, taking home more than £8million-a-year.

The report goes on to claim that Chelsea dropped out of the race for Shaw once they discovered just how much United were prepared to pay the left-back.

In other news, following claims yesterday that United would be willing to sell Marouane Fellaini for £15million, the Daily Star has knocked another £3million off that figure.

The paper claims United would be willing to go as low as £12million for a player who cost a staggering £27.5million when he was signed from Everton last summer.

If he has a good World Cup, he may attract a number of suitors for what could be deemed an attractive price given his ability and experience.
